Q&A with Diane Smith of AmericanRural.org : Corporate America reluctant to talk about gender inequality

Diane Smith left Washington, D.C., and corporate America behind when she moved in 2009 with her family to Whitefish, where she helped launched several tech startups.

Now, Smith is the chief executive officer of American Rural http://americanrural.org/ , a new nonprofit based in Whitefish that is working to shape policies that help rural and small-town America prosper.

She was one of several speakers last week on the "Growing Opportunities for Women Entrepreneurs Across Montana" panel at the Montana Economic Development Summit. It was one of several panels that focused on sharing ideas about how to advance women in the workplace.
