Students in MCPS summer i3 program pitch public works ideas to City Council

What happens when Missoula County Public Schools pays motivated and creative students to spend a month working in small groups to solve a need or issue in Missoula?

The results are innovative projects that range from public park vending machines offering everything from sunscreen to rain ponchos, to a job service website for employers looking to hire teenagers for work like pet sitting and yard cleanup.

On Wednesday, the 27 students in MCPS’ new experimental i3 Missoula summer program http://www.mcpsmt.org/domain/1358 presented those projects to rave reviews from the Missoula City Council’s Committee of the Whole, and to the public works committee.
