Leaner, Meaner, Greener, Tri-county program helps businesses cut waste, save energy

Helena businesses are finding incentive to cut waste, save energy and reduce toxins in water treatment systems with the Tri-County Green Business Program. Emily Post, Lewis and Clark County sustainability coordinator, said the program is attracting larger, mainstream businesses like Costco as well as smaller businesses like Firetower Coffee House.

"We wanted to show people that it is important to their bottom line to save energy," said Lewis and Clark County Grants Coordinator Laura Erikson. "The cost of business can be decreased," she added.
