Missoula Marathon brings $1.2 million to local economy

5,000 people will participate in the 2013 Missoula Marathon or Half Marathon http://www.missoulamarathon.org/ , races which count a record number of registrants this year. Last year, more than 67 percent of the participants were from out of town, and they and their fellow travelers brought an estimated $1.2 million to Missoula, according to a study conducted by the Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research at the University of Montana.
