The Glacier Institute: Three decades of excellence

For 30 years, the Glacier Institute http://www.glacierinstitute.org/ has made the natural world accessible, fascinating and memorable to tens of thousands of children and adults. That several of its seasonal staff, like Barth, first attended as schoolchildren, is a testament to its enduring influence.

"We provide hands-on, field-based educational adventures to people all over the world here in the Crown of the Continent," said Joyce Baltz, director of Glacier Institute since 2004.

A private nonprofit organization, Glacier Institute is the educational outreach arm of Glacier National Park. It also teaches courses in the Flathead National Forest.
