Target Range teacher Kaye Ebelt receives yearlong Einstein Fellowship

Before Target Range School teacher Kaye Ebelt takes off on a life-changing journey with the National Science Foundation, she’s sending a group of inquisitive campers on a mission to Mars.

On Monday, the first day of the Mars space camp at the Missoula YMCA, Ebelt had her budding astronauts, astrophysicists and astronomers do what all NASA adventurers do before a launch.

No matter what their title or skills, when it comes to space missions, the first job for everyone involved with sending astronauts – or equipment – into the great unknown is team building, explained Ebelt, who has had a long association with NASA, and who earned the highest honor in aerospace education in the nation in 2003.
