Brad Pitt's foundation eyes housing in Montana - Projects planned for Poplar, Fort Peck Indian Reservation

May 25, 2013View for printing

The New Orleans-based Make It Right Foundation , founded by actor Brad Pitt in 2007, will soon start the design process for a 20-home project on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.

The nonprofit group, which is partnering with the Fort Peck Tribes' Housing Authority, is expected to dig ground on the project in March, or sooner if a mild winter is in store.

A nonprofit organization, Make It Right was founded by Pitt in an effort to rebuild safe, sustainable homes in New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward after Hurricane Katrina devastated the area in 2005.

The group will do the same in Poplar with two planned home-building projects between now and 2016.
