Stillwater Mining: Former Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer Named Chairman

Stillwater Mining Co. (SWC) said Brian Schweitzer, the former governor of Montana, was elected chairman, replacing Chief Executive Frank McAllister, who will continue to lead the palladium and platinum producer until it finds a replacement.

The governance changes were unveiled during a proxy fight with dissident shareholder Clinton Group Inc., which saw four of its board nominees, including Mr. McAllister, named to the board earlier this month.
