Great Falls Development Authority Top Twelve 5-5-13

Here’s the GFDA Top 12 for this week, celebrating great things happening to move Great Falls Forward!

1) We booked exhibit booths at the Gas & Oil Expo in Calgary in June, the IFT Food Expo in Chicago in July, and the Oil Sands Trade Show in Ft. McMurray in September. Join our Team Alberta or our new Agri-Propcessing Team to get involved in these and other marketing efforts. Contact Jolene Bach at [email protected] or 750-4481.

2) We held a pre-RECon meeting with GFDA investors and partners. RECon is the Global Retail Real Estate Convention in Las Vegas later this month where we will be meeting with developers, site selector and retailers who are looking for cities and sites for projects. Connect with Jeremiah Johnson at [email protected] or 750-3285.

3) Our High Plains Finance Board approved two SBA 504 loans, one for a Great Falls business expansion and another for a new business expanding into Great Falls.

4) D.A. Davidson & Co. announced further expansion into Southern California, merging with Crowell, Weedon & Co.

5) EPA’s team conducted an environmental assessment of the historic downtown Rocky Mountain building as a step toward redevelopment.

6) The final part of the spire that will top One World Trade Center in New York City, constructed by the ADF Group, was hoisted to the top of the building.

7) The U.S. Geological Survey released an updated oil and gas resource assessment for the Bakken Formation and a new assessment for the Three Forks Formation, doubling the estimate of undiscovered, technically recoverable oil to 7.4 billion barrels.
