University of Montana focuses on boosting enrollment – New website released

While the University of Montana works to build a budget based on changing enrollment trends and shifting demographics, it’s also looking at ways to boost enrollment in the years ahead.

UM President Royce Engstrom said the university must improve its recruiting practices, extend financial help to incoming freshmen, and take a more consistent approach to marketing the school.

"The world is changing and getting more competitive, and we need to keep up with that," Engstrom said. "If we can do a more powerful and consistent job of getting our message out, we’ll see our enrollment trajectory go in a better direction."

"They’ve made some impressive changes to our web component – our electronic communications package," he said. "We’re getting more people coming to our website, and we’re ramping up our electronic marketing pretty aggressively. Rebranding that into a powerful and consistent message is a big part of this picture."
