Missoula considers using drug forfeiture funds for 9-1-1 records system

At the meeting, Councilman Bob Jaffe said he would not support the contract, and he explained his stance on his listserv http://www.Missoulagov.org . He was in the minority; the committee voted to recommend the council approve the purchase

Assistant Missoula Police Chief Mike Brady said the police staff member who works on HIDTA was out of the office last week and could not compile data; Councilman Jason Wiener forwarded the 2011 report and 2012 budget, available online with this story.

Brady said the records management purchase has been in the works for years and pulls together data from 9-1-1 dispatch, fire, city and county law enforcement, and detention center booking records. The current system isn’t integrated, and he said it’s also a couple of decades old.

"It’s going to be a huge benefit to everyone in Missoula County," Brady said.
