Evan Barrett hired as outreach director for Highlands College

Evan Barrett, a former business development officer for the state, has been hired as director of business and community outreach for Highlands College in Butte.

The position is new. Montana Tech Chancellor Donald Blackketter and Highlands Dean John Garic made the announcement Wednesday in a news release.

Barrett had held the post of chief business development officer for former Gov. Brian Schweitzer since 2005. Before that, he headed the Butte Local Development Corp. for 18 years.
