Leadership Montana Alumni Named to State Posts

Leadership Montana http://www.leadershipmontana.org/ is proud to congratulate twelve alumni who have been appointed or elected to positions serving the state of Montana. They include five representatives to the State Legislature: Duane Ankney of Colstrip; Tom Jacobson of Great Falls; Margaret MacDonald of Billings, who is also a minority whip; Mary McNally of Billings; and JP Pomnichowski of Bozeman.

Four others were appointed as Directors of state departments by governor-elect Steve Bullock: Shelia Hogan, Department of Administration; Mike Kadas, Department of Revenue; Meg O’Leary, Department of Commerce; and Jason Smith, Department of Indian Affairs. Cindy Stergar was also named as a senior policy advisor to the governor.

In August 2012, Bruce Whittenberg was named as Director of the Montana State Historical Society.

Leadership Montana is a collaboration of business leaders, community members, and higher education and government officials coming together to form a strong partnership for the betterment of Montana. At its core is an eight month program that develops leadership skills and offers opportunities for personal growth and reflection. Participants gain an awareness of state issues and build powerful personal connections with their classmates and alumni, forming a network of leaders from around the state.
