College critical to business: Great Falls College MSU provides worker training

When the Canadian company ADF Group was being recruited to open a steel-assembly plant in Great Falls, with the potential to provide hundreds of jobs in the area, Great Falls College Montana State University was part of the team. Yates Construction, a Mississippi-based company that announced plans in December to build facility near Bynum that will assemble large pieces of equipment for oil field, also cites Great Falls College’s ability to train workers as one of the reasons for the company’s investment in northcentral Montana.

Dr. Susan Wolff, who became dean and CEO of Great Falls College MSU last spring, talked to the Tribune about the college’s role in not only recruiting new industry to the area, but also how the college will meet new and changing workforce needs in the area.
