Sports bring in $54M for Montana campuses, spend $53M

The University of Montana’s football team posted a $3.3 million profit in the fiscal year that ended in June 2012, while rival Montana State University posted a $1.15 million profit.
That’s some of the information submitted to the Montana Board of Regents for their meeting in Helena on Jan. 8.
In all, the NCAA sports at the state’s six four-year campuses brought in $54 million in revenue while spending $52.9 million for a gain of $1.1 million.
