Task force pushes University of Wyoming to reach ‘greater heights’

A task force created by Gov. Matt Mead released its report earlier this month on recommendations for the University of Wyoming http://www.uwyo.edu/ in developing a top tier engineering program.

The 36-page report outlines more than 40 recommendations in eight categories: defining areas of excellence; improving integration across colleges and facilities; improving and enhancing undergraduate curriculum; improving the number and quality of faculty; improving inflow of quality students; improving connections with industry and alumni; investing in facilities; and leadership, execution and accountability.

Mead created the task force in May 2012 and assigned the recommending body to focusing on improving UW’s engineering program rather than its facilities, which the state is preparing to allocate more than $100 million toward.
