Interest high for jobs with trailer manufacturer in Bonner, Montana

Ben Ewing has been looking for a good-paying job in Missoula ever since he started working in the North Dakota oil fields 10 months ago.

Ewing’s job with Precision Drilling pays better than anything he could find here, but it’s tough work in a tough place that takes him far away from his family, including pregnant wife Holly, for two weeks at a time.

"The pay is extremely good, but it’s really, really miserable out there. You’re away from family, you have to drive 14 hours to get to work, generally not in good conditions. The work is very, very difficult," said Ewing, who works 13-hour shifts every day for two weeks before commuting back to Missoula.

When trailer manufacturer Aluminum Company of Maine Inc. announced it was opening a West Coast operation in Bonner last week and looking to hire 60 employees to staff it, Ewing started getting ready to apply.
