New business dean, Kregg Aytes optimistic about MSU and economy

The future looks bright to Kregg Aytes, the new dean of Montana State University’s College of Business.

Friends in other states tell him that massive budget cuts at their universities have "reduced everybody to survival mode" and sent tuition "through the roof," Aytes said last week from his fourth-floor office in MSU’s Reid Hall.

"What is exciting to me at MSU is the leadership here, everybody from President Cruzado on down, people here are optimistic and pursuing opportunities," he said. "There are a lot of things we can do, a lot of things MSU can do for Montana and the College of Business can do…. It’s fun to be part of an environment that can look ahead with optimism."
