Montana Career Opportunity – GIS Coordinator – Lake County, Montana

Lake County is looking for an innovative and ambitious GIS Coordinator who is willing to help our GIS program continue to grow. We have several qualifications for this position but really need someone who not only meets these qualifications but is motivated enough to be a self-manager who is willing to grow and learn with the position.

The Qualifications are as follows:

* Degree in GIS or certification with at least 3 years of experience

* Ability to gather and process GPS data using Pathfinder

* Proficient in using ESRI Suite

* Willingness to learn any software and skills necessary in keeping up with current GIS technology

* Willingness to seek out and manage grant work

* Ability to possess a Montana State Driver’s License

* Possess Cartographic abilities for paper maps

* Ability to work with the public and other government agencies

The Duties of this position are as follows:

* Oversee the application, integration, and use of GIS across multiple departments

* Provide support for GIS solutions

* Acquire and process new addresses and road data via GPS

* Maintain and update parcel data

* Serve as administrator and manager of databases

* Receive and respond to GIS inquiries

* Print and provide relevant maps

* Provide education for entities relevant to the GIS department ( Mainly, but not limited to ArcReader users)

* Stay up-to-date in the field of GIS technology and best practices

* Perform supervisory responsibilities such as delegation and budgeting

* Ensure that all needed information is delivered in a timely manner

* Manage special projects as assigned

Perform other duties as assigned.

HOURS/DAYS: 8 a.m to 5 p.m./M-F. WAGE: $34,000 to $38,000 yearly, DOE. BENEFITS: Full benefit package.
