Idaho Fuel cell powers California EPA Christmas tree

A portable-fuel-cell system developed by IdaTech, a subsidiary of IdaCorp. Inc., is powering the lights on the holiday tree at the California Environmental Protection Agency building.

Gov. Gray Davis´ selected the IdaTech system from among a number of systems because it could quickly deliver a portable, fully integrated and simple-to-use source of power.

“California has strongly promoted fuel-cell development and market demand for renewable energy sources through a variety of programs including the California Stationary Fuel Cell Collaborative,” said Woody Clark, a senior policy adviser with the Governor´s Office of Planning and Research.
