University of Montana Program Receives $2 Million Grant For Bird Research In Asia

Tom Martin http://www.umt.edu/mcwru/personnel/martin/default.aspx believes his upcoming research on two superfamilies of birds in southeast Asia will have a major impact on science’s understanding of how species form, how physiology may influence longevity and the implications of climate change on their development and survival.

The National Science Foundation obviously sees potential in the research, too, because the Montana Wildlife Cooperative Research Unit senior scientist
and University of Montana professor, together with four other scientists, just received a $2 million grant from the organization to pursue the study.
