Montana tourism advocates travel state in search of ideas to boost visitation
October 10, 2012/
Tourism brought 10.5 million visitors and $2.7 billion in spending to the state in 2011, according to Montana Office of Tourism statistics.
That visitation gives the economy a big boost, but as the busy summer season comes to an end, the tourism agency, along with the Montana Tourism Advisory Council, wants to gather input from people across the state on the best ways to increase those numbers.
The organizations hosted a pair of two-hour sessions Tuesday in Missoula to gather input on priorities, actions and goals that will continue Montana’s tourism success during the next five years.
