Expert details economic importance of arts to Missoula audience

On Tuesday, Cohen talked with an estimated 70 people at a Missoula Cultural Council luncheon about how art is not only a cultural investment, it’s an economic one, too. The nonprofit arts in Missoula are a $39.9 million industry, but there’s still room to grow, and Cohen noted that contemporary audiences want an active instead of passive experience with art.
"The arts aren’t in trouble, but a lot of the traditional delivery methods need to be revisited," said Cohen at the DoubleTree Hotel event.
