Missoula Job Service has high hopes for new manufacturing company

If the large, international industrial manufacturing company eyeing Missoula as an expansion site decides to settle here, Wolf Ametsbichler is confident it will find qualified workers to hire.

The director of Missoula Job Service gave the 135 resumes his organization collected in less than a week to the Missoula Economic Partnership last Tuesday. MEP then delivered the resumes to the interested company, which is looking at several sites in Montana – including the former Stimson Lumber millsite in Bonner – to expand its manufacturing business.

MEP has been courting the company for months. They teamed up with Job Service and local union representatives in August to help prove to the company this area could produce enough skilled workers to staff an expansion operation through a welder pipefitter job listing on the Job Service website and a Missoulian story that solicited resumes from interested workers.
