Norman Maclean’s "A River Runs Through It" brought fame to Blackfoot 20 years ago

To many people who have read them, the opening and closing lines of Norman Maclean’s "A River Runs Through It" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_River_Runs_Through_It_%28film%29 are among the most beautiful words ever strung together.

Robert Redford knew it, and as he turned the novella into cinema back in 1991, there was no question the director would open, and close, with the voice of a narrator repeating Maclean’s words.

"In our family, there was no clear line between religion and fly fishing," the narrator would begin.
