Fiber optic installation by Montana Opticom in Gallatin County, Montana creates potentially explosive situation

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

Residents in western Gallatin County say the local telecommunications company that received $64 million in stimulus money to install fiber optic cable is tearing up yards, destroying property and striking gas lines on digs.

River Rock resident Jen Zanto said construction crews installing the cable for Montana Opticom http://www.mt-opticom.com/ tore through her lawn, took down her fence and had no regard for her personal property.
