UM economist sees promising economic signs for Montana

The state has been buoyed by the energy boom and solid wheat and cattle prices and there are signs of a turnaround in the housing and construction sectors, according to Patrick Barkey, director of UM’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research.

"Our read on the overall condition of the economy is that it is reasonably good," Barkey said in a recent interview.
