Cleantech Open Western Region Announces 2012 Competition Semifinalists

The western region of the Cleantech Open (http://www.cleantechopen.com) announced that 47 semifinalist companies have been selected to represent the region in the world’s largest and most successful cleantech accelerator program. These regional semifinalists were selected from a talented pool of more than 100 cleantech entrepreneur teams from across California, Hawaii, and Nevada that applied to enter the western region competition this year.

The 47 semifinalist companies will now compete for regional prizes that include combined cash and in-kind services worth up to $20,000, with 6 regional winners advancing to compete at the national level for a grand prize of up to $250,000 in cash and services, and an overall prize chest of nearly $1 million.
