Yellowstone National Park preps for influx of tourists

The populations of the three states that Yellowstone National Park calls home total a little more than 3.1 million.

And if this summer pans out like the last three, the number should be about the same as the number of tourists funneling into the park.

Even though Memorial Day marks the opening of many of the major roads and guest services throughout the park, the biggest influx of tourists is yet to come.

Last July alone, 906,935 of that year’s 3,090,615 total guests flooded into Yellowstone to enjoy the world’s first national park.

Foundation provides $200K to Yellowstone Park

Each year, Yellowstone’s superintendent submits proposals to the Yellowstone Park Foundation for projects that are beyond the financial capacity of the National Park Service.
