BNSF to hire 140 Montanans

BNSF Railway Co. http://www.bnsf.com/ expects to hire about 140 people and invest $111 million maintaining and improving its rail tracks across Montana this year.

Last year, when Montana’s record floods shut down highway and train traffic several times, the railroad hired 400 people in Montana. Those additional employees will fill vacancies and handle anticipated future growth.

"This is to ensure the safe and efficient movement of the local, national and international freight we move in and through Montana," said BNSF regional spokesman Gus Melonas in Seattle. "With the extreme weather conditions across Montana, it is imperative we make these improvements."
