Carroll College wins $1 million grant for disease research

Carroll College http://www.carroll.edu/ has a received a $1 million grant, which will help boost its science program in general and the study of infectious diseases in particular.

The grant is one of the largest ever in the history of the Helena college, officials said Thursday.

The gift, from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, will be used at Carroll over the next four years. Students will collaborate with students at tribal colleges and Montana State University to study infectious disease ecology, according to a news release.
