Tester, Baucus congratulate Montana businesswoman Red Ants Pants owner Sarah Calhoun as national ‘Champion of the Year’

Senators Jon Tester and Max Baucus today congratulate Montana’s Sarah Calhoun, owner of Red Ants Pants http://www.redantspants.com/ in White Sulphur Springs, on being named the Women in Business Champion of The Year by the Small Business Administration.

Calhoun http://www.matr.net/files/2012-05-23SarahCalhounonwinningnationalSBAaward.mp3 founded Red Ants Pants, a small business that manufactures sturdy work pants designed for women.

"Senators Tester and Baucus have toured our shop in White Sulphur Springs to show their support for Red Ants Pants," Calhoun said. "It has been so encouraging to know that our Senators are paying such close attention to a small company likes ours that is located in such a remote part of Montana."

"Montana needs more small businesswomen like Sarah," Tester said. "Sarah started Red Ants Pants from the ground up and this award recognizes that her hard work is paying off. I congratulate Sarah and hope that she inspires more Montana women to start their own companies and strengthen Montana’s economy."

"Sarah Calhoun has courage, grit and a real Montana work ethic – no wonder they chose her as this year’s National Women in Business Champion! Sarah is a role model for young women and has the kind of entrepreneurial spirit that make Montana proud," said Baucus. "It’s important that we support folks like Sarah and all of our small businesses because they truly are the engines of our economy in Montana."

Red Ants Pants also hosts an annual music festival in White Sulphur Springs at the end of July http://matr.net/article-49548.html .
