Graduation Matters Missoula Sponsors Spring Meeting To Update Community, 5/21

Graduation Matters Missoula http://graduationmattersmissoula.com/ will sponsor a community meeting on Monday, May 21, 4-5 p.m., at the MCPS Business Building, 915 South Avenue West, to update parents and community members regarding its efforts to improve Missoula’s high school graduation rates and keep students engaged in school.

The meeting, one of three community meetings that the school/community partnership provides each year to update the community on its progress, will be held in the building’s board room. It will include updates on current and new projects in the initiative. The public is encourage to attend and get more involved in the initiative.

Graduation Matters Missoula has several committees engaged in working with students, staff, businesses and parents. Each committee is coordinating projects that strategically target barriers that have been identified that result in students dropping out of high school. Various current projects focus on credit recovery for high school students, early childhood literacy, identification of "risk" factors for teens, and a social media marketing campaign. The initiative is always seeking additional volunteers to get involved in its efforts to make "100 percent" graduation a priority.
