AWARE school making progress in Anaconda, Montana

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

AWARE Inc. http://www.aware-inc.org/ plans to build its new Center for Excellence east of Anaconda by next year, providing school and treatment for children with serious behavioral and emotional needs.

The Center for Excellence will replace AWARE’s current residential program in Galen, which is quickly deteriorating since that campus opened in 1997.

Construction is slated over two lots in the East Yards Subdivision, south off of Highway 1 on remediated Superfund land. In addition, AWARE is working with Anaconda-Deer Lodge County on initial infrastructure it hopes will attract further development and growth in line with the East Anaconda Reuse Plan.
