Luther School teaches healthy lessons for Montana

Kids love cafeteria food at Luther School.
At a celebration last week of the tiny school’s national health award, it was easy to see why. Everything is cooked from scratch in the basement kitchen. The fresh greens in two different salads, including the spinach/strawberry/pear salad, were homegrown at the greenhouse at the nearby Switchback Ranch, which also supplies beef for student meals.
"They always eat the school lunch, it’s great for parents" Piney Hardiman says of her children, Taylor, 6, and Nikolas, 8. "They talk about how great the food is here,"
