Montana Internship Desired – Economic Development

I am writing to inquire about any internship possibilities in Montana. I am currently an M.S. student at the University of Vermont studying Community Development and Applied Economics. By the end of this summer I will be done with my course work and the major pieces of my thesis data collection. Being a little nervous about trying to find a job across the country I was told it would be OK for me to move back to Montana at that point and work on my thesis remotely if I wanted to. Unfortunately moving back would mean giving up my assistantship and funding. If I can find an internship in economic development, a field that I find incredibly interesting and important, moving back is still something I would like to do.

The software company I helped found was a member of the TechRanch in Bozeman. Obviously our company never made it big but I was hugely impressed with what the TechRanch offered and how much of a difference they made with the companies they mentored and I decided at that point that I would like to pursue economic development as a career. My research at UVM has revolved around what makes agricultural entrepreneurs successful and I have done extensive reading and research on what makes entrepreneurs successful, venture capital, marketing and customer feedback. So with that said do you happen to have any sort of internship programs or opportunities in Montana that I could possibly help you with?

Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
