Idaho council considers expanding use of job training funds

A state council that helps pay for workforce training is considering making money available to companies looking to replace employees who retire as baby boomers leave their jobs.
The Workforce Development Council, part of the Idaho Department of Labor, was established in 1996 to help pay the cost of training for companies that sell products outside their region. Businesses can get up to $2,000 to train workers for company expansion or if workers face layoffs without retraining.
