Teaching boys and girls separately at Middleton Heights Elementary in Idaho

When teachers at Middleton Heights Elementary work one-on-one with a male student, they’re likely to sit beside him.

With a girl, they probably will choose a face-to-face discussion.

"Research shows boys don’t want eye contact with you unless they’re in trouble," Principal Robin Gilbert said. "Girls want to read your face.
