Hill County Electric Cooperative Internship Available

Hill County Electric Cooperative (HCE) is pleased to have been recently selected as a host site for The Governor’s Energy Intern Program.

This program, started in 2010 and funded by a US Department of Education grant, aligns Montana’s college students with businesses and organizations in the state’s energy sector. Student interns receive a $2,000 scholarship to attend a public college of university in Montana for completing 200 hours of service for the host site. According to HCE’s public relations specialist Kev Campbell, "This is a perfect opportunity to partner with a proven program that fits our strategic plan to address workforce development while providing hands on learning experience for the student intern."

The Energy Intern position available through HCE will focus on assisting in the efforts of the electric cooperative’s marketing, public relations and energy services by completing the following projects: create a 3D model of a geothermal Ground Source Heat Pump System (GSHP); assist in creating marketing and communication pieces for the cooperative’s educational and promotional use and develop and assist with HCE events promoting the efficient use of energy and green energy. The Energy Intern will be a member of the Marketing and Public Relations team and will also coordinate with other departments as needed. The preferred time period for completing this 200 hours internship is June 1 – August 30, 2012.

The student intern selected must meet The Governor’s Energy Intern Program guidelines as well as the criteria set by HCE. For more information and to apply, visit http://www.energyintern.com or contact Hill County Electric at 1-877-394-7804 ext. 864 or e-mail Kev Campbell at [email protected].
