Northwestern Energy Linesman Takes To Helicopters to Save Birds

Northwestern Energy http://www.northwesternenergy.com/ partnered with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to save wild birds.

A linesman hanging out of a helicopter installed hundreds of reflective bird diverters onto power lines near Broadview Tuesday. Biologists say last spring’s heavy rainfall created more wetlands, which have since been attracting more birds. Officials say 80-100 birds were found dead last fall after running into the transmission lines.
