Free shredding event a hit in Helena, Montana

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

A document shredding event in Helena Friday drew plenty of folks anxious to destroy personal records.

"The guy hadn’t even put the truck in park and there were eight people here," said David Smith, director of the YMCA, where the shredding took place.

The shred-a-thon event is part of National Consumer Protection Week and sponsored by the Montana Attorney General’s Office https://doj.mt.gov/ , the Better Business Bureau http://spokane.bbb.org/ and AARP. Montana Records Management http://mtmrm.com , a Helena business, donated its shredding truck and personnel for such events across the state.
