How Local Startups are Using Science and Renewables to Grow
a New Business Sector in Missoula.

City Club Missoula’s http://www.cityclubmissoula.org upcoming forum will feature two cutting-edge startup
companies, each using science to create renewable chemical alternatives –
and each doing business right here in Missoula.

Rivertop Renewables http://www.rivertop.com/ is a local company using University of Montana
research and technology to manufacture sustainable, biodegradable and
non-toxic chemicals from renewable plant sugars. The company is currently
undergoing a major expansion, with plans to create 25 full-time,
high-quality jobs. President Jere Kolstad will discuss Rivertop’s
innovative products, the company’s current expansion project, and plans
for the future.

Blue Marble Biomaterials http://bluemarblebio.com/ is a local company using patented technology to
produce renewable specialty chemicals by using managed ecosystems of
natural bacteria. President James Stephen will introduce the technology
behind Blue Marble, talk about the company’s expansion, and discuss the
mutual benefits to local partnerships and collaborations.
Join City Club Missoula as these local leaders discuss innovation,
expansion, and the growth of a new business sector for Missoula.
