Montana State University President Waded Cruzado encourages girls at annual "Girls for a Change" conference

Montana State University President Waded Cruzado has her insecurities: She is short, she is a woman in a world of men and she speaks with an accent.

But she does not let them stop her, she told an audience of young women and girls at Thrive’s "Girls for a Change" event Saturday.

"I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning to sail my ship," Cruzado said, quoting author Louisa May Alcott.
