Pasta Montana’s Global Food Safety Initiative Done To Perfection

WHAT IS GFSI?

Global Food Safety Initiative is an internationally recognized benchmark for food safety and quality programs for food manufacturers.

Earning certification in one of its recognized standards or "schemes", such as BRC, demonstrates compliance with legal and industry food safety requirements, increasing transparency and efficiency in the food supply chain. Certified companies gain customer confidence and market access. For more information go to http://www.mygfsi.com/

You might say the food safety program at Pasta Montana’s Great Falls production facility is al dente, done to perfection, earning it an A rating in its achievement of certification to the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard following a November 2011 audit.

By combining its HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) food safety plan with a comprehensive quality system, Pasta Montana is on the leading edge of where food production is headed as more large retailers and governments seek assurances that safe procedures be in place and traceable. Its A rating is the highest a company can achieve, according to Todd Daniels from the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center (MMEC).
