NorthWestern Energy plans major upgrades for its electricity and natural gas distribution systems
February 14, 2012 /
NorthWestern Energy http://www.northwesternenergy.com/ plans some major upgrades for its electricity and natural gas distribution system in and around Montana.
"This is not a utility issue," NorthWestern president Bob Rowe said. "It’s a national infrastructure issue. You always want to be ahead of the curve."
To that end, the company has started a seven-year maintenance effort. It plans to spend $234 million on its electrical transmission system and another $53 million on its natural gas pipelines. That’s in addition to the $610 million of capital expenditures the company made in the past six years.
