How to Build Resilient Business Communities Around You

It’s easy–perhaps too easy–to think of a business as something that stands entirely on its own. As business owners, we have to be focused on what we need to do to make our businesses grow. But narrowing our view too much can simply be shortsighted, because any changes in the communities we operate in can create ripples. There are the obvious ones, like the ongoing recession’s impact on our customers’ ability to make purchases. Then there are the less obvious ripples, like the fact that a smaller tax base means that local schools aren’t able to teach students how to be effective employees.
