Project aims to grow produce year-round in Casper, Wyoming
With short summers and long winters, Casper is not ideal for growing produce year-round, but a group of gardeners hope to change that.
The Casper Area Economic Development Alliance http://www.caeda.net/ and Casper College http://www.caspercollege.edu/ have already expressed support for a movement fueled by community conversations and the Facebook group, "Casper Community Greenhouse Project." http://www.facebook.com/pages/Casper-Community-Greenhouse-Project/165903293472461
Danica Sveda, a circulation assistant at Casper College, is spearheading the project and posting to Facebook as it progresses. She said the idea grew through conversations with fellow gardeners.
"I think there’s a lot of interest in the community and it’s been talked about a lot, but no one’s done anything yet," Sveda said.
