Positive Systems Signs Agreement With Major Aviation Company

(Whitefish, MT) – Positive Systems, Inc. recently strengthened their position within the marketplace by signing a multi-faceted agreement with ARINC, an Annapolis, Maryland based corporation. The agreement is a renewable, one-year union between the two organizations that lays the groundwork for Positive Systems to deliver a host of professional and consulting services to ARINC. The structure of the agreement also grants ARINC the right to act as a reseller of Positive System’s marquee product, the DIME® (Digital Images Made Easy) software. The ARINC organization reported revenues of $558 million in 2001 and consists of approximately 3,000 employees located in 50 offices around the world.

ARINC is the world leader in transportation communications and systems engineering. Their business focus is in five industries: airport operations, aviation, defense, government and transportation. ARINC will immediately look to Positive Systems to help fulfill the requirements of a large state agency. ARINC is currently providing this key client with a variety of services including acquiring aerial imagery of wildfires.

Imagery of the wildfires is collected by ARINC and then handed off to the Positive Systems team. Using the DIME software, Positive Systems technicians prepare the imagery in a time-sensitive manner that assembles dozens of disparate images, relates the imagery to actual geographic points on the earth and finally, adjusts the imagery for color inconsistencies. The final product of this unique process allows wildfire incident commanders to make decisions on how to best combat the fire while it is burning and provides critical remediation information “post-fire”.

While the wildfires are a current priority, additional projects are planned with other state and federal agencies. Termed “resource” projects, a multitude of services will be rendered in the process of providing imagery-based information to the various agencies currently dealing with issues such as sudden oak death, noxious weeds and other land management issues. These ongoing projects with ARINC are expected to have a significant, positive affect on the revenues of Positive Systems.
