College rocket scientist finds happiness in Fab Lab

Century College instructor John Rupert is a retired rocket scientist who has found a new passion – turning students onto science.

An inventor at heart, Rupert, 71, is getting a huge charge out of working in Century’s Fab Lab, where students from all academic disciplines can learn how to make just about anything using digital tools for design and fabrication. Century’s Fab Lab is part of a global network of about 200 Fab Labs that were spawned by the Center for Bits and Atoms at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
