12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
The University of Montana—Skaggs Building (New Addition) Room 169
The Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant program is often overlooked as a potential funding source for technology R&D because it requires collaboration between a small business and a research institute (typically a University). This workshop differentiates STTR from its cousin, the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, and then proceeds to describe the program’s purpose, operation, and keys to success.
The presentation addresses the intellectual property issues of a joint project, and provides participants with tips and resources. Attendees will leave the workshop with a good understanding of whether the program is a good fit for their particular situation and what their next steps should be.
Presenter: : John Balsam is the Principal of Missoula-based John Balsam Associates, LLC, which provides professional research, analysis, and decision-support services to private and public clients nationwide.
